Cancellation Policy

Flexible (default)
Full refund up to 24 hours before pick-up. Within 24 hours, 50% of the rental amount is refunded; the security deposit is always refunded in full if no damage is found.
Moderate
Full refund up to 5 days before pick-up. Within 5 days, 50% is refunded. Within 24 hours, no rental refund; deposit refunded subject to condition.
Strict
Full refund up to 14 days before pick-up. 50% refund up to 7 days before. Within 7 days, no rental refund.
Host cancellations
If a host cancels a confirmed booking, the renter receives a full refund and CarShare may levy a host cancellation fee and affect their listing ranking.
Extenuating circumstances
Documented emergencies (accident, illness, force majeure) may qualify for a full refund regardless of tier, at CarShare's discretion.
Refund timing
Refunds to the original payment method typically process within 5–10 business days. Deposit refunds are released within 48 hours of vehicle return and inspection.
Platform fee
CarShare's platform fee is refunded proportionally to the refunded rental amount.
